OpenVPN Client Compatibility for Private Internet Access (PIA)
I just bought this router excited to use vpn client as in my older and slower Asus router but it does not seem to be compatible with Private Internet Access. Is there VPN Client compatibility for Private Internet Access? I generated and download every openvpn config files they offered and none of them work. Their less secure settings connect and I can see data transmitting but not receiving. Their more secured settings don't connect.

@Joseph-TP thanks greatly! After a couple days of exchanges with customer support, they just put out firmware update 1.1.2 Build 20251022 rel.33842(5553) and PIA works now, at least for what I need. CBC encrption works but GCM does not connect. That appears to be the remaining issue but CBC is good enough for me. thanks again

Hi @Graveyard ,
Thanks for your update.
I am so glad to hear that the VPN can work. Therefore, it appears that OpenVPN Client and Private Internet Access (PIA) are not incompatible. So I transferred your case to the Wi-Fi Routers board.
Of course, if your current setup is sufficient for your needs, you can continue with it. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us here or via ticket.![]()

Hello@Graveyard ,
Thanks for contacting our community.
Is the VPN working fine now? We have not received any clear indication that there is any incompatibility with setting up the PIA OpenVPN client on our routers. Would you mind saving the OVPN file?
Then please send the OVPN file to local support's email with the following information:

Hi @Joseph-TP
No I have not been able to get it to receive data. It seems so close, like my DNS settings are off or something. Thanks for the tip on the submission. I'll get on it.
Edit: I submitted two tickets / messages. The first submission, I forgot to include reference to the forum and your subject header as you mentioned. I corrected it with the second submission.
