Hello everyone,

I have a house in Italy where I only stay a few weeks a year. I’m planning to get a Deco X50 5G and use it with a TIM SIM card for internet.

The house has 3 floors (not very big), and I’m wondering:

  • Do I need to buy an extender or additional Deco units for better signal coverage?

  • Or would it be better to go with an Archer 5G router instead?

Any advice or experience with similar setups would be really helpful.

I was considering getting a STARLINK Dish, but it looks like they are on a monthly plans  as well.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome to the community.

I think you might need at least two Decos for 3 floors, such as Deco X50-5G+Deco X50.

As for Deco X50-5G or Archer NR routers, do you have some specific requirements, such as web-UI management, VPN server/clients?

Here is a simple comparison of Deco X50-5G and Archer NX200:https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/684156

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hi, and thanks a lot for your reply!

No, I don’t really have any specific requirements — I just want to provide internet for the TVs and phones. We have kids, and as everyone knows, these days they spend a lot of time on their devices (which I don’t fully agree with, but that’s another story 😅).

That’s basically all I need — just a stable and strong connection around the house.

Thanks again for the help!
