Hi there,

I have a tp-link ax3000 and I am trying to setup the parental controls in the following manner:

Given we have a laptop with ip 192.168.0.191, used by my 12 year old son, who is a dedicated : ) student.

I want to create a type of study profile:

I want to setup the access in such a manner that when I activate the profile it will:

whitelist ONLY:

  • myschool_dot_com
  • myresearch-site_dot_com

Blacklist:

everything else

Nirvana:

Have the same as in the above, but be able to schedule this automatically.

So, for example, after 20:00 it activates the "Study Profile" automatically and resets it to allow all in the morning.

Is something like this possible with the tp-link ax3000 ?

If not, can someone be so kind as to perhaps recommend of router/device that will support something like this?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi,

The options available in the HomeShield Parental Controls are the same on all current Archer models. (some HomeShield options are free, while others require a subscription)

Switching the content restriction between blacklist mode and whitelist mode used to be available on some older TP-Link models that are not being sold anymore. Maybe you could still get one such model as a second-hand device on eBay for a few bucks and then connect it as a secondary router to your Archer AX3000?

However, I am not aware of any TP-Link router that allows to set a schedule for when the content filter is active.
