I've bought a BE65 5G for my father at his rural house. This is the sole and unique internet connection source (theit phones do not have internet access)

 

The router hangs and looses internet by now and then (every 5 ish days or say) and he needs to start the reconfiguration with the Deco-App

 

however he can't use the app as the App does require internet connection....

 

...is this really they way you guys thought this device ???

 

He is very upset as this requires lot of troubles

Welcome to the community. May I know your SIM carrier? How about the current firmware and hardware version of your Deco BE65 5G. Can you also provide screenshots of your 5G settings in the deco app.

Hi, It is also suggested to set "Network Mode" to "4G only" to see whether the mobile network gets more stable.

Deco BE65-5G also supports "Reboot Schedule" under Deco App>More>System, and you can also set a weekly reboot schedule.

What i find really off is that you sell a 5G router which is supposed to provide internet connectivity which REQUIRES internet connectivity to be setup... in the first place

 

Don't you think this is a nonsense ???

 

Don't you think there shall be a way to setup the product WITHOUT YET having internet connectivity as with ANY other product on the planet ???

Why is the "app" (which does not work off line) the only method to set up this product ???

 

What's the way, if it exists....

Hi, Deco App also supports local management without internet access. However, the password& email authentication need the internet. I think the last time the authentication expired, so it will report no internet connection when trying to access the Deco App.

Remote Control via the Deco App through TP-Link Cloud is more secure than HTTP/HTTPS login. Deco also had web admin UI, but it doesn't allow manual configuration and is mainly used for local firmware upgrade and network status checking.

Exactly my point

1. the App needs internet

2. Router is the device which provides internet connection (via 5G / WIFI)

3. If the Router has any issue and locks you NEED internet connection which you don't have as the router has issue

 

So you are stuck 

 

You basically agree that this product is a system which is NOT MANAGEABLE unless it is already running
if it stops for any reason (and it does on regular basis) there is no way to get it back running as it needs itself being running to unlock

 

Tihs is unbelievable......

 

I would like to send this back and be refunded
