Deco X50 V1.0 – Mesh / “No Internet” Issue - PROBLEM TO GET ACCESS TO LOCAL network
Deco X50 V1.0 – Mesh / “No Internet” Issue
Setup:
-
3 × Deco X50 V1.0 units, firmware 1.7.1 Build 25080612 Rel. 70421
-
Ethernet backhaul between all units
-
Network: 192.168.1.0/24
-
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (Linux router)
-
DHCP/DNS server: 192.168.1.22 (Linux)
-
-
All Deco units have static IP addresses:
-
PATRO – 192.168.1.20, MAC 7C-F1-7E-4F-CB-A4
-
VSTUP – 192.168.1.21, MAC 7C-F1-7E-4F-D3-0C
-
Observed behavior:
-
When moving with a tablet or mobile device between mesh nodes, the device disconnects and either:
-
does not reconnect to the next node, or
-
reconnects but shows “Connected to device. Cannot provide Internet”.
-
-
Sometimes the device stalls at “Obtaining IP address”.
-
Signal strength for PATRO and VSTUP is acceptable (confirmed with WiFiman).
-
Example: PATRO shows tablet connected with good signal, but the tablet has no internet access.
-
Even when a static IP address is manually configured on the tablet, the same issue occurs, so it is not related to DHCP.
-
The problem affects different devices (phones, tablets) in the same way.
-
Ethernet connectivity is stable and reliable; the issue only affects Wi‑Fi mesh.
-
Temporary workarounds: reset networking on the device, disconnect/reconnect manually, or forget and re‑enter Wi‑Fi password.
-
Because of this behavior, Wi‑Fi mesh is practically unusable for mobile devices.
Log excerpts:
-
Repeated errors:
/usr/bin/apsd: wlan_get_links_qca:69: Error: ioctl -
stadbEntry_modifyTriggerThresholdshows RSSI ~41–44, RCPI -64 to -68. -
wlanifBSteerEventsHandleBeaconReportreports multiple BSSIDs with varying RCPI.
My question: Is this a known issue with Deco X50 mesh on firmware 1.7.1, and is there a recommended fix or configuration to prevent mobile devices from losing internet when switching between nodes?
