Model: Deco X58-4G
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Have X58 4G Modem  router in 4G Bridge mode. It seems to still have NAT and DHCP on.  Wifi also can't  be turned off.

I want only  Modem function and hand over

NAT Wifi and DHCP to another router.

You will need to run your decos in access point mode then see the link below

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

  @HelpFixDecoApp

Thanks for the reply.

It doesn't  help me unfortunately. I want the Deco X58 4G to act as the modem to access the internet via Wireless Broadband  and its SIM.

I want it to only function as a modem. The mode I have used is 4G Bridge mode. It connects to a ASUS router with NAT DHCP and Wifi via the ASUS's WAN input. With this config it appears to have double NAT as the Deco has Dhcp on and Wifi on. Doesn't  appear to be able to turn these off in app. It appears that 4G Bridge  mode is not a true Bridge.

Have you tried turning of DHCP and WiFi off on the Asus? Then you "should" be able to run the deco in router mode without the Double nat?

@David-TP

You guys really need to put out a patch to Disable DCHP on the deco side for every model

Yes I could do that but I want to use the AsusRouter as the router as it has more features. Want to control the bufferbloat problem I'm having streaming live sport. Buffering that changing settings in Deco doesn't seem to help.

I don't think there is any other way to do it unless they release a beta patch for your model do let you disable DHCP and WiFI on the deco side

@David-TP

Any other work around?

Hi, did you just purchase the Deco X58-4G? If yes, I think NE200-outdoor might be a better choice for serving as a 5G bridge modem. It has IP Passthrough mode and doesn't have WiFi: NE200-Outdoor 5G Outdoor CPE With POE and 2.5GE Port

Best regards.

Thanks for your suggestion. Deco came from ISP at no cost so purchasing better modem is an option

Rather not wait for a patch. Better modem might be on my Santa list. Thanks for all the suggestions.
