I have bought this purely just to connect up a video doorbell and two indoor cameras in a house. I'm looking for a sim card, probably on a 12 months contract as the house is now empty but intend to sell next year. Do I get a data only sim card or any sim card that comes with texts and calls, even though I won't need them?

Can you confirm that I will have to inset the card into a mobile phone first to activate it and then it's ok to put into the router?
