Good day. First of all I couldn't add the Deco E4r model on the model part (Firmare version: 1.1.2 Build 20250226 Rel. 35508)

Anyways, my main question is about the allow list mode that the deco X60 have.

The main deco we are using is the X60 with other three deco E4r connected on it. The allow list mode sometimes works and visible but sometimes, the option is unavailable. I know this is due to the different version or build but why does it sometimes allow it, sometimes not?

Here's the set up:

Main deco is X60

1 Deco E4r is comnected through LAN cable on the main deco

The other 2 Deco E4r is connected wirelessly.

I am wondering, if we connect all deco using LAN cable, will the allow list mode permanently work? Or still not, since it's different version after all

(MAIN DECO lan to 1ST DECO E4R)

(1ST DECO E4R lan to 2ND DECO E4R)

(2ND DECO E4R lan to 3RD DECO E4R)

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

The Allow List will not permanently work even if all three satellite Deco E4 units are connected via Ethernet cables, as the current latest firmware for E4_V4 doesn't support Allow List.

PS: the latest firmware for Deco E4_V4 is 1.2.2 Build 20250905. If you want to manually update the firmware:https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-e4/#Firmware.

E4R refers to a single unit, and Deco E4 is the model for the whole pack.

As for why "Allow list" randomly shows up, I think it might be due to the delay of Deco APP synchronization. The satellite Deco might occasionally fail to respond to the feature inquiry; then the Deco App thought there was only Deco X60.

@David-TP Thank you for clarifying. Btw, the latest firmware that you've sent isn't available on the local website (Philippines) and still shows Deco E4(EU)_V4_1.1.1 Build 20240104 as the latest firmware to be downloaded, but ours already have the 1.1.2 Build 20250226 Rel. 35508. Thanks for the heads up though. Is there any chance that allow list mode would be available for the E4 unit as well?

Hi, thanks for the update.

I'll report to the local web support first and hope they can upload the latest firmware for Deco E4_V4.

The Allow List is planned to be released for different models, but it is unclear when or whether it will be introduced to Deco E4.

You can subscribe to this post-Deco Recap- Check What's Currently Going on With Deco for new updates, and it is suggested to pay attention to the firmware notification on the Deco APP.
