@Wayne-TP As a customer it's really difficult to find the right camera as all of them are so different and if even the firmware is so different how can I rely on the description that is printed on the product, or when bought online is provided by the online shop. Unfortunately most online shops don't make the effort anymore to provide all available information of the product, or don't update them when fx the firmware changes.

There is cameras that have high resolution but don't see far in the night, some can see far and 360 degrees but don't detect passing cars. Some do have the best features but don't have Wifi.

If you say hardware is not a factor then how can it be that suddenly the same camera could be more powerful when using either the H500 hub with AI, or using a third party software like Frigate? So I don't take your excuse and I think you just want to sell more products instead of forwarding a need to your developers and update the firmware so the good product can even become better. As it is now I can't recommend the C500 to anybody.

AI stuff usually needs a lot more memory to run smoothly. If the camera itself doesn’t have enough built-in memory, it just can’t handle adding new features like that. From what I can tell, their hub basically takes over that heavy lifting. That’s probably why the camera only supports AI once it’s connected to the hub.

The description the Tp-Link website says:

Person Detection: Smart AI identifies a person accurately, sending instant notifications through the Tapo app.

So I am expecting exactly that. But even that that this device doesn't as promised. I have sensitivity for person already on 4 and still just a snowflake makes it send a notification that a person was detected. I don't turned movement detection because that is even worth.

I have 2 C520WS which are also not perfect but they are sold in Sweden in the shops for cheaper on original price and they are at least better then the C500. I only bought the C500 because I saw it reduced about 50% in a shop during black week and I thought if that is usually sold more expensive then the others it should be at least as good.

So I feel very much betrayed with this purchase.
