Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Hello everyone,

Currently in Germany me and some people are having internet connection stability issues with 5G connection. The band I connect is Non-standalone so I don't really get 5G speeds, or low latency, even when the app shows it is connected via 5G. And I have found out this 5G connection was very unstable when opening speedtest, or simply opening Instagram from my phone, or using Parsec to connect to my other pc. All the devices would lost connectivity, and app would say "you have internet connection" and led would be also white which indicates there is no issue. However I tried pinging 1.1.1.1 from my PC and of course packet loss was %100. I blamed the heat problem however it is not overheated when I touch, even feels like less warm than normal modems. Tried ECO mode, tried different DNS, tried different firmware (1.3.0), locking bands (B20, N78) because best signal and +300mbps speed, factory resetted, tried QoS... And many things I cannot remember. I have been dealing with this issue since 3-4 months. And thanks to other forum users answers I was able to find solution.

Solution;

Simply change to 4G only from Deco app. And it will use 4G+ connection if you don't lock the bands (select auto for bands).

and disable ipv6.

Result: 4G+ has literally same speed as 5G(non standalone) provides, and for ping it became more stable and jitter values dropped. Never lost internet connection even when using speedtest to measure, and on instagram, on Parsec. Everything worked fine. The issue is 5G.

Regards.

Hi, thank you very much for sharing with us here.

May I know your SIM ISP as well? Is it also O2?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hello again, I have been using the SIM card on my phone and it has been working flawless. And router kept disconnecting from one band to another band. It constantly switched bands in 4G, and there were bands such as B20 which had a good signal however it kept changing to other ones, and they had -120 dbm signal, such as B1, B3. I believe it is a router issue and I if possible demand a beta firmware where this issues have been fixed.

Hello,

I currently have found the issue. The default authentication type was CHAP and I assume Germany mobile internet system doesn't really work good with CHAP. I have switched to PAP and it has been working flawlessly. I do not think the issue was the firmware and I would like to apologize for blaming the firmware or Deco.

SOLUTION: Change the authentication type from CHAP to PAP in internet settings. This will fix multiple connection and heavy loads of internet usage fails - dropouts at once. I believe this only happens to o2 users in Germany. I hope everyone can see this and fix their problems before struggling for months.

Kind regards.
