TP link archer AX55 update (newest one)
I have updated my router from the previous version to this new version as it says alot of things have been fixed, then realised this new version for the Archer AX55 resets the router back to factory settings and you have to setup the router as if it came out of the box, not a great start, but also with the new firmware version I am getting 150mbps, but the package I pay for is 1000mbps, my speed test isnt reaching this atall.
The version my router was on was build:
1.4.1 Build 20250821 rel.70686
And this worked a treat with the speed and was getting 800+ on speed.
Can anyone from tp link reach out to me with the old version of firmware for this router as it worked fine before or a new update that allows my speed how it was back to normal, now the new update has decreased my network speed entirely, I cant even play a game of warzone without it lagging 😅 getting each game od 550ms of ping 🤮
Or is there a setting I'm missing and thats why its not back to its original speed.

@DanishSweets90 I hope you have better luck than me. My AX55 auto updated to this firmware a few months ago and it's never worked properly since. I find it odd that this release is still not listed as the latest version on the website and if you Google it, it comes up saying the firmware is for a totally different router.
I've also got a couple of range extenders which also updated to a firmware version not showing on the product download page.
Ever since, connectivity is constantly dropping out albeit briefly before coming back again but I run a home assistant server with all my smart lights etc connected and run on automations and they don't like the connection keep droping out and end up just staying offline until I power cycle them which is becoming blimming frustrating.
I did get in touch with TP Link customer service at the time who in fairness did their best to help me but after a load of back and forth and getting nowhere I just gave up.
So will be keeping an eye on here for a solution 😊

Ive been given a new update, which was TP LINK beta version, the WiFi drops out at 1-2am which is irritating,
But apart from that the speed is still slow for download and upload. They need to give me a solid file, but yes for the moment im running a .zip which is beta version so theyre testing I tvj m to see if this is good version for the archer AX55.
Thats my update for now, how's yours getting on?

Just a little heads up for you AX55 users, some models have or are about to go EoL this year, see the link below
https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manual/2025/202509/20250910/EOL%20List_Home%20Networking%20-%20V6.0.pdf
The absence of the ability to download the latest FW has put me right off the product now and when mine go EoL that's me and TP done as I have one that isn't 4 years old yet that went EoL at the end of 2024, AX20 V3 EU, my other one had a OTA update in August 2025 but the latest FW available to download is from April 2025 it's almost February 2026 now, I've asked time and again and the reason for no FW file is always skirted round or ignored, not good enough imo.
For maintaining a router always once you have configured it to your liking save a config file backup, then when you have to factory reset you're only a couple of minutes away tpo full restoration of your config.

I also saw this thread on the forum for the Archer AX55 V1, so have you tried updating to this firmware that @Joseph-TP posted, maybe it will solve the problem!?

I'm still running v1.3.3 as I can not risk upgrading to a V1.4 or v1.5 version if unable to downgradwe again. All the versions of v1.3.x higher that v1.3.3 including tesyted beta's and debug versions failed for me with a loack of connectivity to my 6 RTE200's in mesh
If I upgrade to v1.4 or v1.5 and my mesh devices don't work than the AX55 has become a brick bringing my home down without being able to go back to v1.3.3

I completely understand you and your concerns about updating to the latest firmware.
I use my AX55 V1 (firmware Archer AX55(EU)_V1_1.5.10 Build 20251119) in AP mode... but I also noticed this problem with the speed drop, because when I measure the speed several times during the day (when I measure the speed I am always 1 meter away from the router) the speed is not always the highest that my provider delivers to me (400 Mbps) and sometimes it is lower.
In addition to the AX55 V1, I also use two AX73 V2 routers also in AP mode and on those AX73 V2 routers there is never a speed drop and the speed I get is always 380 Mbps which is normal.

Thanks for sharing.
Have you noticed this problem starts occurring from which firmware?
By the way, may I know your whole network topology? For exmaple:
ISP modem—router )))((( client devices
(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Dear @Joseph-TP
hello and my network topology is as follows:
ISP ONT ZTE ZXHN F680 (192.168.1.1) -----> Archer AX80 V1 (Router mode 192.168.0.1) -----> Omada SG3428X V1.30 (192.168.0.xx, Static IP) -----> Archer AX73 V2 (192.168.0.xx AP Mode, Static IP), AX73 V2 (192.168.0.xx AP Mode, Static IP), Archer AX55 V1 (192.168.0.xx AP Mode, Static IP) and just to mention that to both Archer AX 73 and one Archer AX55 and more IP cameras and all desktop PCs that are connected to Omada SG3428X V1.30 with LAN cables CAT 5E .
As I said, both AX73 V2s that work in AP mode do not have a problem with speed drops, but this only happens with Archer AX55 V1 which also works in AP Mode.
And I think the problem with the speed drop occurred immediately after the purchase and update to the then latest firmware Archer AX55(EU)_V1_1.3.5 Build 20241211... but I can't confirm that for sure because the AX55 is in another house at my parents', so my phone doesn't connect to its Wi-Fi often, so I can't confirm exactly when the problem with the speed drop occurred.
Best regards!
