Dear TP-Link Support Team,

I am using a TP-Link Archer AX12 (Hardware Version V1), Indian unit. By mistake, I upgraded my router with the EU firmware. After that, I tried to revert back to the correct firmware for my region.

However, when I attempt to upload the official firmware available for my region (US firmware for Hardware Version V1), the router completely rejects the firmware file and does not allow the upgrade to proceed.

My router is an Indian version, but it was originally running US firmware without any issues. I would like to know if there is a supported or safe method to revert from the EU firmware back to the official US firmware for Hardware Version V1.

BUT ITS WORKING FINE 

Actually, this is my older router, and I did this about six months ago. I’m currently using an AX53, but I was wondering if it can still be fixed.

Hi,

 

The firmware for the Archer AX12 V1 should be identical for all regions.

 

If you have downloaded a "US" version of firmware 1.2.1, then you should be able to install it.

You could also check for yourself if the *.bin files for the "US" version 1.2.1 and the "EU" version 1.2.1 are different or identical.

 

Note that most TP-Link routers do not allow to downgrade the installed firmware to a lower major version of the firmware. For example, if the router is running on firmware version 1.2.x, then it is not possible to downgrade to a firmware version 1.1.x or 1.0.x.

The newest firmware version on the India webpage is 1.1.28.

 

Like I mentioned earlier, downgrading from version 1.2.1 to version 1.1.28 is not supported. This is the reason why it fails. It has nothing to do with the region.
