Hi, easy to set up and connect to the internet, but impossible (for me) to connect to TalkTalk digital voice. In Telephony settings after entering my phone number, a second required parameter is 'registrar address'. I've spoken with TalkTalk Full Fibre Support & posted on their support forum, but they are unable to give out this information, for undisclosed reasons. 

 

Now for the strange part. Full Fibre Support told me that I have to contact tp-link, give them the username and password of my router, meaning my WIFI Hub 2 Sagemcom router and tp-link will then be able to provide the details on how to set up the Archer VX1800v. It makes no sense to me that this would be tp-link's responsibility. 

 

Any help much appreciated.

Perhaps the support misunderstood and assumed you need help in setting up the Internet connection on the TP-Link router.

 

As for the TalkTalk's Digital Voice service. Apparently the situation is the same as with BT's Digital Voice service, in that it is propriatary and will only work with the ISP-provided equipment, in case of TalkTalk that's their "Wi-Fi Hubs" and "Digital Voice Adapter".

  @woozle Support understands that the router connects to the internet, but you're right, it seems VoIP will only work with their equipment. Or, they're just not willing to give out their telephony connection parameters. In my case I have the WiFi Hub 2, this has a phone port so no need for the digital voice adapter. Since the latest firmware update something has broken in the Hub 2, it won't save settings when switched off, hence the reason for purchasing a new router. 

 

Ah well, I have a backup router in case it completely dies. I know I can use a different VoIP provider, but for the time being I don't really want to pay for two separate VoIP services. Shame really because I do like the Archer. I really wasn't expecting it to be so difficult to connect a phone, especially as it connects to the internet with no problems. Cheers anyway.
