Model: XX530v   XC220-G3v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: v1.8_0.7.0_3.0.0 Build 250606

Hi TP-Link Community,

I have two TP-Link Aginet XPON routers, purchased online in India (not ISP-provided):

  • XX530v (v1.8_0.7.0_3.0.0 Build 250606) – planned as the main router, connected directly to the fiber (PON).

  • XC220-G3v (V2_1.14.0_0.8.0 Build 250317) – planned only to extend Wi-Fi coverage.

Both devices mention Aginet / EasyMesh compatibility, so I would like to confirm whether the following setup is officially supported.

What I want to do

  1. Connect XX530v directly to the fiber line and use it as the main router / EasyMesh controller.

  2. Place XC220-G3v in another room and connect it wirelessly to the XX530v (no Ethernet cable).

  3. Use XC220-G3v as a secondary EasyMesh node / satellite (same SSID, seamless roaming).

  4. The XC220-G3v will not act as a router (no NAT / no DHCP / no double NAT).

My questions

  1. Can XC220-G3v join an EasyMesh network as an agent / node under XX530v?

  2. Does this setup support wireless backhaul, or is EasyMesh supported only with wired backhaul for XC220-G3v?

  3. What is the correct pairing method?

    • EasyMesh “Add Node” option

    • WPS pairing

    • Any specific “Agent / Node mode” setting on XC220-G3v

  4. After pairing, can WPS be disabled while keeping the mesh working normally?

  5. Are there any firmware, hardware version, or region limitations for XC220-G3v V2 acting as an EasyMesh node?

Goal

Stable internet on the main router with extended Wi-Fi coverage using EasyMesh, without running LAN cables.

Country: India

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Hello @Anbu

Thank you for posting on the TP-Link Community.

While both models target the Service Providers in the local market, I tried to check as many details as I could.

Even though they both advertised Aginet/EasyMesh compatibility (as you mentioned), they can ONLY work as the EasyMesh controller (main router), NOT as an EasyMesh agent (satellite).

If you purchased them recently, you may consider replacing the XC220-G3v with one of the H series models.
