Deco M9 does not initiative wired backhaul
Hi all,
I have moved into a new house and now have the following setup:
I have an internet ISP router in the basement. From that router a UTP cable runs to a tp-link TL-PA7017 unit. At 3 locations in the house I have a 7017 unit from which a cable runs to a Deco M9 plus for the mesh network.
However, the strange thing is that the 3x Deco M9 do not all communicate via cable with eachother:
So the zolder (attic) uses wifi to connect to the woonkamer (living room).
I have no idea why this happens.
Any tips?

For troubleshooting purposes, configure Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode and see if all Deco units start using Ethernet backhaul. See https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/kb/detail/334

Hi, is the network topology like the following:

Did you set Deco M9 plus into Access Point mode?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Hi David,
That is indeed exact the topology.
One of them is the main Deco which "sees" one of the others via cable but the other one via WiFi.

Hi, thank you very much for the update.
Have you tried to swap the location of the two satellite Deco M9 Plus to see whether the issue always follows the same Deco or the same powerline adapter?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

Hi David,
I have not tried that at the moment.
But this topic can be closed.
I currently have one backhaul via Wifi and the other one is wired. I have no powerline accesspoint spare anymore si it will just have to do at this moment.
Thanks for all the help.
