Hi,

 

I currently have 3 powerline adapters to provide internet to my garage.

1  TL-PA7017P in my apartment, 1  TL-PA7017P in my garage1, and 1  TL-WPA7617 in my garage 2.

 

The issue is with the 7617 and exibihits intermitent connections, losing connection every few minutes and recovering.

 

The positioning of the devices has been the same for 15 years, and it has worked well, but recently I had to replace 2 units because they broke down, and the new ones have this issue.

 

They are not close to anything that can cause an electromagnetic disturbance.

 

I've disabled power saving.

 

What should I do to solve this?

Here are some steps you can try to further troubleshoot:

1. Double-check Power Saving Mode: Even though you mentioned it's disabled, please ensure that all your powerline adapters have Power Saving Mode turned off. You can use the tpPLC utility to verify and adjust this setting. For detailed instructions, refer to: How to enable/disable power saving mode on powerline adapters

2. Test Adapter Placement: Temporarily move the problematic adapter (TL-WPA7617) closer to the main adapter (TL-PA7017P) in your apartment, ideally in the same room, to see if the connection stabilizes. This can help determine if it is related to the wiring or distance.

3. Direct Connection Test: Connect a device directly to your main router (bypassing the powerline network) to confirm that your internet connection from the router itself is stable. This will help isolate whether the problem is with the powerline adapters or your overall network.

4. Check Cables and Ports: Try using different Ethernet cables and ports for the problematic adapter and your client devices to rule out any cable or port faults.

Thanks for the quick reply.

 

The equipment in the garages is 4 stories distant, more or less. The powerline in my apartment is near my main LV Switchboard, and I have a direct connection to my garage where the remaining TP-link power lines are.

 

Power saving is off, in all devices.

 

I have no other location for it; it's as close as I can. The previous units I replaced worked fine.

 

No issues with ethernet cables.

Hi @pedroasousa ,

Do you mean that only the newly added TL-WPA7617 experiences network disconnection problem? If it's a newly purchased unit, you can first exchange your unit with the retailer for a new one. Or contact local support for further assistance.
