TL-WR3002X: Travel use broken by "Time Reset" bug on every boot
Hi TP-Link,
I am using the TL-WR3002X (AX3000), but its performance as a "travel" router is severely hindered by a major software flaw.
The Issue:
Every time the device is unplugged, it loses the current time and resets to October 2025.
The Impact:
Because the date is wrong at startup, WISP (Hotspot) and USB tethering fail to connect because security certificates appear "invalid" or "expired." This creates a loop: the router can't get internet because the time is wrong, and it can't fix the time because it has no internet.
Requested Improvements:
Memory Save:
Have the router save the last known time to flash memory so it doesn't jump back months/years on reboot.
Auto-App Sync:
The Tether App should automatically sync the phone’s time to the router upon connection without manual menu navigation.
NTP Priority:
Allow the router to sync time before finalizing secure handshakes.
As a travel router, it shouldn't require manual intervention every time I plug it into a new socket. Please address this in the next firmware.
Best regards,
