I have a D205 Doorbell and a H200 Hub.

Like many others it seems I have the dreaded 'Jingle bell' problem! I also have no spoken communcation at all through the D205 doorbell or any banner notification of the doorbell being pressed..

The doorbell chimes...'Ding' ( ringtone setting3 on both H200Hub and D205 doorbell)...followed by 'Jingle Bells'..It is driving me crazy!

 

I have read through all the past threads and so called solutions on this forum and tried all settings but to no avail. It still does it!

So in desperation yesterday I re configured from scratch the H200 and the D205 Doorbell.....Success!..I got no Jingle bells...Just Ding and I I got banner notifications on my phone of the doorbell being pressed and I could speak to the whoever at the door.

Success or so I thought!.....It all worked perfectly!

 

24hours( 1Day) later it has reverted back to sometimes playing just Jingle Bells, sometimes Ding followed by Jingle Bells. with no banner notification of the doorbell being pressed  and I cannot speak or communicate with anyone at the door.

 

Does anyone have a solution to this issue please ? As I said reading past threads and playing with setting has proved fruiteless.

To avoid any confusion, please verify whether the ringtone settings are configured in the correct location:

  • Ringtone for doorbell itself: Go to the doorbell’s Device Settings page > Doorbell > Doorbell Ring > Ringtone.
  • Ringtone for the paired chime or hub: Go to the doorbell’s Device Settings page > Doorbell > Paired Chimes, select a paired device, then tap Ringtones & Volume.
  • Ringtone for the Tapo hub (when ringing it directly): From the app homepage, tap the Tapo hub to open its device page > Ringtone.

 

If your settings are correct, please contact support team for further assistance. Contact Technical Support

 

For the best results, please include the following information in your email. And enable the Diagnostics mode on your Tapo hub in advance: Device Settings > Diagnostics.

  1. A video demonstrating the problem.
  2. Screenshots of the ringtone settings: doorbell ringtone, paired chime ringtone, and the hub's ringtone.
  3. The time stamp of the latest occurrence, and your time zone.
