Hi,

First time post.

I'm trying to set up pair of Deco X50 on plusnet full fibre to replace an existing mesh.

I'm trying to not change a lot of static ips.

I installed the first x50 and connected it to the openreach ont and set up the x50. I want the subnet to be 192.168.1.x so I changed LAN IP to 192.168.1.1 and subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 and saved. Seemed OK so went into dhcp server and changed start/end to 192.168.1.150 and 192.168.1.230 and tried to change but phone claimed it disn't have a connection and default gateway still claimed to be 192.168.68.1

What am I doing wrong please?

can't seem to find a similar thing anywhere..

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the firmware version of the Deco X50?

How about the LED status on the Deco? Is it solid green or red?

After changing the LAN IP address, I think the Deco will reboot to apply the change, and the mobile phone might need to reconnect to the Deco WiFi again.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Thanks for the response

FW is 1.6.1 Build 20241010 Rel 65389

I see there have been 2 newer releases - I'll upgrade to the latest

After changing the LAN ID LED stayed green but phone disconnected. I didn't see the Deco reboot.

I'll upgrade the firmware and try again however  I'd decided last night that changing my system to use subnet 68 might be better in the long run (in case I ever get the need to factory reset the Decos)

Thanks

Hi

Per my previous message, I've set up my pair of X50s. The primary is acting as router and the other is connected as secondary. The firmware upgrade is scheduled for later today.

With my previous installation I had several occasions when I had to perform a factory reset of the box and it caused me a lot of work to get the system stable and I remembered those last night so why change from the default?.... So the X50s are set up with default LAN ID and default DHCP range, and I'm changing the static addresses.

The only hiccup I had was trying to add the second X50, needed to reset a couple of times as I kept getting solid red but now OK.

Thanks for your help
