I got error message (file error) when updating last firmware for tp link td-w8961n v5 date 27/01/2026

And can you update the firmware at last? Please tell me the firmware version of your modem now.

@Joseph-TP no i click on upload firmware and it show message file error when updating last firmware 27/01 it dont update

Please check the uploaded file to ensure it is in the correct .bin format. Typically, you would download a .zip file from the TP-Link website, unzip it to obtain the necessary files, and then upload the .bin file (not the .zip file).
To properly update your firmware manually:
1. Download the correct firmware file for TD-W8961N v5 from the official website
2. Extract the downloaded zip file by right-clicking and selecting "Extract All" to get the .bin file
3. Connect to your router via Wi-Fi or Ethernet
4. Open a web browser and visit http://tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1
5. Navigate to Advanced > System Tools > Firmware Upgrade
6. Under Local Upgrade, click Browse to select the .bin file, then click "Upgrade"
7. Ensure a stable power supply during the entire upgrade process
