Major Bugs on Archer GE400: MLO Disconnects & Wi-Fi Calling Drops
I recently purchased the Archer GE400, and while I expected a premium experience for the price, I am experiencing several severe bugs. There are two specific issues that are incredibly frustrating and completely ruin the network stability:
1. Wi-Fi Calling (VoWiFi) is Unusable
Making or receiving calls over Wi-Fi has become a complete nightmare. The audio constantly cuts out, stutters, and calls frequently disconnect entirely. I am currently forced to manually turn off Wi-Fi on my phones just to have a normal, stable phone conversation. (I am experiencing this on both a Galaxy S24 Ultra and a Pixel 6a).
2. MLO Causes Random Disconnects
The flagship Multi-Link Operation feature is completely unstable. It causes my phones to randomly drop the Wi-Fi connection entirely for a few seconds before reconnecting. The drops are so disruptive that I have been forced to completely disable MLO in the router settings.
Current Setup:
Firmware: 1.0.6 Build 20250930 rel.43997
It is extremely disappointing to spend this much money on a top-of-the-line Wi-Fi 7 gaming router, only to be forced to disable its biggest advertised features just to keep my network from crashing.
Are the engineers aware of these specific MLO and VoWiFi conflicts? Is there any future firmware update planned that will addresses these issues? Or my hardware is faulty?

Hello @Arnab9191 ,
You mentioned that 'enabling qos on the router completely brokes it, games are becoming unplayable with ping issues'. Regarding this, we have a GE400-v1 beta firmware that may fix it; please check: What Can I Do If QoS Enabled Causes BufferBloat and High Latency on My Router After Firmware Update?

@Joseph-TP thanks for all of those trouble shooting guides, i have tried all of that. But to be honest the router feels bit buggy, it desperately needs some good firmware updates. Also one thing i have noticed that enabling qos on the router completely brokes it, games are becoming unplayable with ping issues, while disabling it solves the problem. Any information available about the next firmware update what problems it will be fixed?

Hello @Arnab9191 ,
Welcome to our community.
It seems you are experiencing both Wi-Fi calling and MLO network instability. Here are some suggestions for each of these situations.
For the Wi-Fi Calling:
- Does your ISP (Internet Service Provider) offer Wi-Fi calling service? Please ensure that the Wi-Fi calling option is enabled in your phone's settings.
- On the router, please disable SIP ALG: Log in to the router's web management interface, go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > ALG.
- Reserve IP addresses and enable port forwarding:
• Go to Advanced > Network > DHCP Server and add an address reservation entry in the Address Reservation section for both your phones
• Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > Port Forwarding to configure port forwarding for UDP port 500 and port 4500
For the MLO Network:
Do you have other clients supporting MLO Network? Can they access the network stably? If you're experiencing wireless instability with MLO, here are some suggestions that may help:
- Make sure the Router is properly placed in an open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf.
- In the web interface, go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings, and try different Wi-Fi channels to avoid nearby interference. It's recommended to use 5GHz and 6GHz for the MLO network. Set the 5GHz channel width to 80 MHz or 40 MHz to avoid interference.
- Make sure the client devices are not included in any Parental Control profiles.
- Ensure the network adapter drivers, system, and firmware on your Galaxy S24 Ultra and Pixel 6a are up to date.
- Important Notes:
• MLO will only work if both the router and the client device support this feature
• The Wi-Fi mode for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz must be set to 802.11be (default) for MLO to function
• The MLO network name should be different from the main network name.
If you have any troubleshooting results, please feel free to reply here; we can conduct further analysis.

Hi @Arnab9191 ,
Could you please provide screenshots of the speed and latency test results after enabling and disabling QoS?

@Lazycode , dont expect too much from this router, unfortunately you have to disable all of those advertising feature to make this router stable, and they are too busy to fix those problems, they are busy supporting those flagship routers that serves likely 2-3 ultra rich people.

Hello @Lazycode ,
Welcome to our community.
First, what is the firmware version of your router now? Please refer to How to find the hardware and firmware version of my TP-Link device
It appears there are two reported problems with your new Archer GE400-v1 router. Let's break them down one by one and try out some potential solutions.
1. Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting on your S26 Ultra
Please try the following steps:
1. Log in to the router's web interface at http://tplinkwifi.net, go to Advanced > System > Firmware Update, and make sure the firmware is up to date.
2. Make sure the router is placed in an open area, not inside a cabinet or on a shelf.
3. Go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings and try switching to a different Wi-Fi channel to reduce nearby interference. For 2.4GHz, also try setting the channel width to 20MHz.
4. Go to Advanced > Wireless > Wireless Settings and try disabling Smart Connect, then reconnect your phone manually to the preferred band.
5. Make sure your S26 Ultra is not listed in any Parental Control profiles.
6. Check that your phone's system/software is up to date.
2. DHCP Address Reservation not applying
A few things to check:
1. After saving the reservation, restart your server (or have it release and renew its IP address) so it can pick up the newly assigned address from the router.
2. Double-check that the MAC address entered in the reservation matches exactly the MAC address your server is using. An incorrect MAC address will cause the reservation to not work.
3. If your server has a statically configured IP address set directly on the device itself, the DHCP reservation won't override it — you'll need to set the server's network settings back to "obtain IP automatically (DHCP)."

@Joseph-TP those are not the problem i am currently facing, please inform your firmware team that there is major problem on MLO and QoS both didn't work. I am currently disabled both of them. Is there any update of when we can expect new firmware update for the same?
