Hi 

 

I've had x3 M4's working fine since Feb 2021.

 

Main node connected to my Sky Router. One in the kitchen, one in the bedroom (where I work from home).

 

Last few weeks the one in the bedroom loses ethernet connection, but wireless still works? I reboot that node from the app and it fixes it, but then the next day (seems to be around the same time in the afternoon) same thing happens.

 

I've swapped the nodes around (kitchen & bedroom) and same thing has happened.

 

Switched Sky Router off and all decos a few times. Have not held in the reset button yet which is next on my list.

 

Just wondered if anyone experienced similar and knew why? Yes wireless still works but dont have the best speeds to start with and I work as a Data Analyst so wired connection is better for my laptop (and PS5 :-)

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Are both PC and PS5 connected to the satellite Deco M4 via a network switch?

Have you tried replacing the cables to test the Ethernet connection?

 

When both devices lost the Ethernet connection, if you check the network settings on these two devices, would they still get IP addresses from Deco?

Devices connected via ethernet cable.

 

Yes ive tried another cable, pretty sure its not cables as when its working fine those cables work then?

 

Last night had all red lights on all deco's. I ended up deleting the network and starting again. Rebooted all decos and created a new network (new ssid). 

 

Today 3pm, same issue. Work laptop has no internet access via ethernet cable to deco in bedroom. Solid white light. Wifi connects no problem.

 

This is driving me mad. This set up has worked for 5 years. What has changed? Bug in recent update?

 

How do I check if gets an IP address on my device?

Hi, thanks for the update.

As there is also a SKY router, do you set Deco into "Access Point mode" or "Wireless Router mode"?

-It is recommended to set Deco into "Access point mode" under Deco App>More>Advanced>Operation mode, which could eliminate the potential influence on some advanced features.

 

You could refer to this link to check the IP address on the work laptop:

How to find IP address on your devices

-When the work laptop stops working, it is also suggested to connect it directly to the main Deco M4, or even the SKY router, to see whether the internet connection can be restored.
