Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Please show the link speed for the wired ethernet backhaul connections in the App.

I installed three Deco BE65, I rewired my house so I have proper CAT6 cables between the Deco BE65 units.

I can see the wired backhaul icon in the App, but I cannot see which speed was negotiated. Is it 100Mb? Is it 1Gb? Is it 2.5Gb?
I can test my cables with other devices and verify that they are fine for 2.5Gb. But once I connect them between the Deco units, there is no way to see if the link is 2.5Gb.

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

We have already shared this suggestion with our engineering team for evaluation. Currently, if the Ethernet Backhaul link speed drops below 1 Gbps, the Deco app will notify you to help identify potential connectivity issues.

When both Deco BE65 units are connected using a Cat 5e/6/7 or higher-standard cable and all related hardware supports 2.5 Gbps, the Ethernet Backhaul should automatically negotiate to the highest possible speed—up to 2.5 Gbps under ideal conditions.

We appreciate your input and will keep you updated as the evaluation progresses.

Best regards.

Hi David,

Thank you for the quick response and for sharing this with the engineering team.

I understand that the system should automatically negotiate the highest possible speed under ideal conditions.

However, even when everything is expected to work correctly (e.g., CAT6 cabling and compatible hardware), there is currently no way to confirm whether the backhaul is operating at 1 Gbps or 2.5 Gbps. From a user perspective, this creates uncertainty, especially when trying to validate a newly installed or upgraded network.

Having this information available in the app would be extremely helpful for troubleshooting, verification, and ensuring that the setup is delivering the expected performance. Without it, users need to rely on indirect testing methods, which are not always accurate or practical.

I believe exposing the negotiated link speed would significantly improve transparency and user confidence in the system.

Thanks again for considering this feedback.

Best regards,
Tiago
