Router won't allow game thru firewall

Router won't allow game thru firewall
Friday
Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.6 Build 20260105 rel.23037(4155)

I bought this router new 2 days ago, I upgraded from older to link wifi 6 router, which worked fine.

The BE550 will not allow "The Outlast Trials" video game launched thru Steam to connect to the Red Barrels gaming servers.

Other Games launched thru Steam show live on Universal plug and play in the BE550 software.

Manual port forwarding does nothing and the issue persists.

Flush dns no difference

Ip config no difference

Ip renew no difference

Netsh winsock no difference

This is not a Windows or PC issue it is the router. I have a Lenovo Legion i7 pro gen 10 with MediaTek wifi 7.

Running wifi ac on the laptop or the router makes no difference.

Allowing "the outlast trials" thru Microsoft defender makes no difference.

Making sure Universal plug and play is set to always in Windows makes no difference.

Switching to wifi 2.4ghz makes no difference

Switching to 5ghz makes no difference

Switching to wifi 7 be makes no difference

Switching off MLO makes no difference

Using Google Gemini for 2 days straight to help me with this makes no difference. The be550 ignores my manual port forwarding and universal plug and play for "The Outlast Trials."

Download speed 1000

Upload speed 400

Ping 6ms

It's not an internet speed issue it is a be550 firewall issue.

Switching back to the old router Archer Ax-72 fixes the issue because it automatically detects Steam and The Outlast Trials and activates Universal plug and play.

Please help me

Turn off the 160mhz this may fix the Lenovo problem, as for the game you may need to make a special rule for it and put it on it's own lan or game mode if there is one, I'd check Steam support out with this as you cannot be alone in this.

Check your isolation settings AP, highly unlikely but worth trying.

WiFi 7 is a bit of a mess atm especially dual band routers trying to make a faux 3rd band, all brands.

Hello @Helpme12 ,

Welcome to our community.

For your case, it is recommended to check the following settings:

1. Check Parental Control Settings: In the Tether app or router management interface, review the Parental Control settings, including content filtering and website blocking features, to confirm that the game server address or related ports are not being blocked by mistake.

2. Check Security Features : On several TP-Link router models, the "Antivirus" or "Real-Time Protection" feature might block potential malicious websites or connections. Please check:
   • Find the Antivirus or Real-Time Protection feature in the router management interface
   • Review its history to confirm whether the game server connection is being blocked
   • Try temporarily disabling these security features and test if the game can connect
   • Also check other security features like "Intrusion Prevention"

3. Check Access Control: Confirm that your laptop is not accidentally blocked by the Access Control feature.

Additionally, as Bogle suggests, contacting Steam support may offer some helpful suggestions.yes
