Hi all (again)

 

I've recently moved to EE full fibre (910mbps) and have 2 x Deco S4 hard wired via cat 5e cables to the EE router. One Deco is on the ground floor and the other is on the 1st floor. The ground floor WiFi speed is around 110mbps, and the 1st floor is around 380mbps - both are set to access points but can't understand why 2 different speeds? 
After speaking to the TP Link helpline, they told me that only one Deco can be hard wired and all other Deco's must be fed from the main Deco - due to the location of the main Deco, this isn't an option. I've tried to detail what the setup I have below... 

 

EE FIBRE ------EE ROUTER-----PORT 1 - HARD WIRED ETHERNET 5E -----DECO S4 (Ground Floor) - 110mbps (access point)

EE FIBRE ------EE ROUTER-----PORT 2 - HARD WIRED ETHERNET 5E -----hubswitch - DECO S4 (1st Floor) 380mbps (access point)

 

Is there anyway I can increase the ground floor speeds like the 1st floor or have I set up this all wrong? Any suggestions would be great

Hi,
When the Deco works in AP mode, your network diagram is no problem.

 

For the slow speed phenomenon, the following instructions may help.
Fix Slow Deco Internet Speed: Setup, Testing, and Troubleshooting
 

If the same phenomenon persists, please confirm the following information for further analysis.

 

1) On the wireless client connected to the ground floor Deco S4, please check its link speed to confirm the client is connected to the 5 GHz or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The 2.4 GHz link speed is no more than 300Mbps.

2) You can turn off the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on the Deco app, then check the download speed on the wireless client when it's connected to the ground floor Deco S4.

 

3) Try a different Wi-Fi client and test if the 5 GHz download speed will be better.

 

4) Disconnect the ground floor Deco from port 1 of the router, then connect a computer to port 1 via an Ethernet cable. What's the download speed on the computer?
