It's a hard question to answer. The Hardware inside your BE65 supports it the problem is the firmware doesn't support it at this time. I wish i could give you an ETA when the firmware will support it but I have no idea when it will be released sorry

Which ones do support this feature out of the box?
Does "Homeshield" have options for this?

From checking my notes, I know the following have Eco Mode:
X55, X50, X50-POE, X50-5G, X20, M4, M5, M9
I know the following definitely don't
X75, X10
I've yet to test any Wi-Fi 7 devices yet but will check the B25 I have.

Hi,
Usually, you can visit the following website to find the Deco models that support the ECO mode: https://www.tp-link.com/home-networking/deco/?filterby=6810.

Hi,
The Deco BE65 Pro appears on this filter page, possibly because it's planned to support the ECO feature in the future. I will forward this case to the relevant department for updates and optimization of the filter page (https://www.tp-link.com/home-networking/deco/?filterby=6810).

Sorry for the late reply.
We're going to use my Deco XE75 Pro (Hardware Version 2) as an example of how TP-Link handles their firmware.
When I purchased my Deco at the end of 2023, the hardware had always supported ECO Mode. However, the firmware that came with it did not support ECO Mode at the time.
When I first started using it, my Deco was on firmware 1.2.x. If you look at this chart, find the row for firmware version 1.2.x in the "Specific Firmware Versions" column. Then look to the left, and you'll see that my unit shipped with firmware platform 1.7.0 and 1.8.0.
If you scroll down the chart a bit further and look for 1.10.0, you'll see on the right side that ECO Mode was added in that version.
So, while the hardware in my unit supported ECO Mode from day one, the firmware it originally shipped with did not. That's exactly the issue you're running into right now.
This is why it's important to check not only the model number, but also the specific hardware version you're buying.
In my case, TP-Link only released beta firmware that supports ECO Mode on February 2nd, 2026 — even though I've owned the unit for over 2 years.
Hardware version 1 and hardware version 1.60 have both supported ECO mode since September 14th, 2024.
I’ve been actively trying to get TP-Link to change how they handle firmware updates. My suggestion is that when they update one model, they should update every hardware version of that same model at the same time. However, I have no idea whether they have decided to adopt this approach or not.

Hi,
The firmware (1.2.0 Build 20250718 Rel. 49740) for the Deco BE65 Pro does not currently support the ECO feature, but the feature is planned to be added via a firmware update. We recommend paying attention to the firmware information on the Deco BE65 Pro V1 Support page on the official website and keeping the Deco's firmware up to date to enjoy the new features.
Best Regards

You have the highest version of firmware thats been released for your deco so there isn't any other firmware you can install for your unit until they release beta firmware for it. So it's a waiting game.
