Here is how the ringing behavior works in different scenarios:
1. Doorbell models without an external chime
For models that only include the doorbell itself (no additional chime):
Whether the Wi‑Fi has no internet access, or the doorbell is completely disconnected from Wi‑Fi, pressing the doorbell button will still cause the doorbell itself to ring locally.
2. Doorbell models with an external chime
For models that include both a doorbell and a separate chime:
If the Wi‑Fi has no internet access but the doorbell is still connected to the Wi‑Fi network, both the doorbell and the external chime will ring when the button is pressed.
If the doorbell is completely disconnected from Wi‑Fi, only the doorbell itself will ring, and the external chime will not ring.

thanks for your reply. looking at the d210 doorbell with remote chime.
we had a problem recently where we had a power cut while away. the internet hub went down and didn't reset. my parents didn't know how to reboot etc so if it happened again with the d210 they may not hear the chime.

After power is restored, if the router is powered on and broadcasting Wi‑Fi, and the doorbell successfully reconnects to the router, then both the doorbell and the chime can ring normally, even if the Wi‑Fi does not have an active internet connection. However, if the doorbell is disconnected from the router’s Wi‑Fi, the chime will not ring.
