Replacing Deco S7 as main for Deco E4 capped at 100 mbps?
Replacing Deco S7 as main for Deco E4 capped at 100 mbps?
I have Deco E4 as the main wifi connected to the router. Problem is the E4 is capped at 100 mbps while we have a 400 mbps plan.
Upon searching, most of the solution is replacing the main deco with a gigabit ethernet port, is it really the fix? And if so, can I use Deco S7 as the main and will it be able to transmit the correct mbps to other E4? Or should it only be Deco M4?

Hi, welcome to the community.
Based on the information you provided, you can use the Deco S7 as the main Deco to obtain the 400 Mbps speed your ISP offers. If all Deco E4R units are wirelessly connected, the 100Mbps speed limit can be lifted. However, please note that when the satellite Deco is wirelessly connected, its speed will be affected by environmental interference (such as distance from the main Deco, obstacles, other interference, etc.) and is also related to the topology. Therefore, it's hard to say that the speed when connected to the satellite Deco will exceed 100 Mbps.
This article may help with your situation: Why is my satellite Deco unit not getting the same speed as the main Deco??
Best Regards
