Is the Etisalat modem also a WiFi router? If so try putting it in bridge mode 1st they try to set up the deco

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

Hi,
Typically, you can press the reset button on the main Deco for 1 second to factory reset it, then refer to the instructions below to configure it when the Deco has a flashing blue light.

How to Set Up Your Deco

Please confirm the following information if you fail to set it up.
  1. What error message appears in the Deco app when configuring the main Deco?
  2. Please disconnect the main Deco from the modem, and connect the same Ethernet cable from the modem to a computer. Do you have internet on the computer? If so, what's the IP address on the PC(How to find IP address on your devices)?
  3. When configuring the main Deco, have you selected Dynamic IP or PPPoE as the internet connection type?

Best Regards

You have two choices here, you can either keep the Etisalat router/modem and setup the Deco in access point mode. You would then turn off the router wi-fi in the router settings.

OR

If you are trying to replace the etisalat router with the Deco then you need to do the following (more complicateD):

  1. Get in touch with Etisalat.

  2. Ask them to disable PnP as you want to use your own WiFi router.

  3. Also ask them for the VLAN id for your router (you will need this later)

  4. They will send you PPPoE username and password (if not you should have this already on a physical card they give you at the time of first connection or in an email or SMS).

  5. Once you get the username and password, setup the Deco in Router mode and select PPPoE connection in Internet Settings

  6. Enter username and password as provided.

  7. Enter the VLAN id as provided (In Internet settings)

You may need to wait for a few minutes for the synchronisation after entering all the settings. If its still not connected after 5 minutes try rebooting the deco.
