Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version: V20
Firmware Version: 1.40

I have just gotten a new Deco X10 as a mesh to set up as I dont get proper internet in the upper floor using my existing router (non tp-link)

I've completed the setup using the LAN cable that came with it. But the moment i unplug the cable, the internet connection seems to be not available and the light is coming up as solid red.

Can anyone advise what am i doing wrong?

I have connected the x10 with FiberHome HG6145F3

How many Deco X10's have you got, to create a mesh you need at least 2.

Then you would have one connected to your router by network cable, and one upstairs to extend the mesh.

It would also be best once you have the two Deco's setup  you can choose to:

1. Have your Deco in Router mode, but then set your ISP router it to bridge/modem mode, but depending on the way you connect to the internet you may or may not need PPPoe login and password, check with your ISP on "using my own router"

2. Alternatively, just turn off the Wifi on your ISP Router and set the Deco to Access Point mode. You lose some functionality this way but at least you will get the Mesh extension.

Hi,
If you only have one Deco X10, you can connect it to your existing router via an Ethernet cable, then set it up to operate in Router or AP mode to provide Wi-Fi connectivity for your client devices. However, it can't build a mesh network with your existing router, and can't connect to that router via Wi-Fi and extend its Wi-Fi network.
Best Regards
