TP-Link BE230 2.4Ghz drops occassionally on firmware 1.3.1
TP-Link BE230 2.4Ghz drops occassionally on firmware 1.3.1
My TP-Link BE230 was running 1.3.1 and the 2.4Ghz radio dropped occasionally, while the 5Ghz remained on. Only a reboot was fixing the issue. This was not due to interference, I was using the least congested channel, Smart Connect was off. Does anyone else experience this problem?
I have now update the router to the beta Archer BE230_V2_1.3.1 Build 20260317(Beta Firmware) and I will be monitoring the situation. Needless to say, I think we are all expecting a new stable firmware that would fix this issue, along with the reported earlier SMB causing reboot problems.

Hello @BobbySup ,
Currently, the reports we have received regarding 2.4 GHz disconnection issues are primarily associated with the Archer BE230-v1; there appear to be very few reports concerning the v2 version.
Could you let me know when this anomaly first began? For instance, have you made any recent changes to your settings or updated the firmware?
For 2.4 GHz, please set the channel width to 20 MHz to avoid interference.

@Joseph-TP Hello! The issue with the 2.4Ghz radio started from the very beginning, I purchased the router one month ago and it was automatically updated to firmware 1.3.1. I have now set the channel width to 20Mhz and I am testing. I will let you know if the problem persists. Thank you.

I can't believe a company like this can behave so disgustingly! Total incompetence! Worst products and worst support!
Not only is the 2.4Ghz constantly unavailable on the Archer BE230 V2, but you've also made it impossible for people to fix this problem! You mentioned firmware 1.3.1 as faulty, but the next firmware that "should fix the problem" isn't 1.3.2, but 1.1.6 and 1.1.7. Because of this, my equipment refuses to update and performs worse than competitors at a much lower price! In other words, my TP-Link simply doesn't work! The level of idiocy of TP-Link employees is simply beyond my comprehension. The level of management indifference is disgusting!
I deliberately bought a more expensive device for better quality, and as a result I got:
1. - a broken piece of crap,
2. - buggy firmware from stupid programmers who have no intention of fixing the problems that arise,
3. - management indifferent to their customers, who haven't solved such a complex problem as naming the next version 1.3.2!
I don't understand how you can be in the market with such an approach to everything!
I will write about this everywhere! I will not refer your crap to anyone.

@Joseph-TP
This is impossible! Your employees are so idiots that they linked to a firmware 1.1.7 archive from firmware 1.1.6!

hello @NormChel ,
Welcome to our community.
Thank you for your continued support and valuable feedback. We understand the inconvenience you've experienced with firmware updates, and we are deeply concerned about the confusion and inconvenience caused by the update sequence. We value the experience of every user and are actively optimizing the release process to ensure clearer and more stable updates in the future.
Firmware v1.3.1 is an early release version that encompasses the features of the v1.1.x series, along with additional functionalities scheduled for upcoming releases. If your router is currently on v1.3.1 or v1.3.1 beta, you do not need to install v1.1.x; a future unified update will synchronize all devices to the same version path.
Additionally, based on feedback from some users, we understand that the updated version 1.3.2 does not yet include the fixes required for version 1.3.1. We recommend that you wait for your router's automatic update notification and check the release notes for the new firmware version before updating.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding, and will strive to optimize the subsequent version management and push experience. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or need assistance.
Best Regards.

@BobbySup Such a fustrating issue - all of a sudden none of my 2.4Ghz devices are connecting.
I've split SmartConnect, I've changed from 20/40 down to 20 MHz. I've tried the Beta Firmware, one device connected for a minute but disconnected.
Archer BE3600, v1 - latest firmware. Gone from 10 2.5ghz devices to zero connecting.
Edit: What worked for me was factory reset after installing the Beta Firmware.

I bought your device, and 2.4 GHz isn't working on it! I don't care what firmware version it has. Your device might work on 2.4 GHz for a couple of days or just a few hours after a reboot. I created a Telegram bot that monitors the availability of 2.4 GHz devices and reboots the router if there's no connection for 10 minutes. This bot showed that even if the 2.4 GHz connection doesn't freeze completely, the ping to the device (a laptop that's always on) periodically drops. This is extremely inconvenient when the router reboots several times a day and the internet connection is interrupted. And if you don't reboot the router, your smart home devices are unavailable!
Your device is causing a lot of inconvenience.
Archer BE230 v2.0
I have 5GHz and 2.4GHz separated, Smart Connect disabled, OFDMA/MU-MIMO disabled, TWT disabled, 20MHz, Channel was both Auto and Manual, 2.4GHz mode 802.11b/g/n/ax, 5GHz mode 802.11a/n/ac/ax/be, MLO network disabled, EasyMesh disabled, Eco mode disabled.
These limiting settings do not solve the problem.

It happens because of EasyMesh is turned off. I think this solved on 1.1.7.
TP-Link is really surprising me. Nothing is as it should be. Version 1.3.1 is quite problematic; when you check the support page, version 1.1.7 is listed as the latest version. However, when you try to update the device, it won’t let you because it shows that you’re running a version older than 1.3.1. You update it in Recovery Mode, and you notice that version 1.1.6 is being installed instead of 1.1.7.
There have been QoS-related issues ever since the product was released. They haven’t been fixed at all. I’ve tried all versions, and when QoS is enabled, I see over 1000+ ms in the bufferbloat test. However, when I enable the QoS setting on my modem instead of using TP-Link, I get 15 ms.
It’s quite interesting that a company with so many customers provides such poor support, has such low software quality, and ignores user feedback.
