"Charge Guard" Feature [Beta] Improvement.
Hi Dear TPLINK Team,
The current "Charge Guard" [Beta] (Model : Tapo smartPlug TP110) feature has a power threshold limit of 20W, which is quite restrictive for several practical use cases, such as EV chargers.
It would be very helpful if this limit could be made configurable ideally up to around 1000W, so it can support a wider range of applications.
Use cases include:
-
EV charging systems
-
Automatically turning off devices when power consumption drops (no-load condition)
Looking forward to your thoughts on this enhancement.
Thanks,

Please note that EV charging is not a supported load type for the Tapo smart plug. This type of device requires higher power and charging currents that exceed the plug’s rated capacity.
As for the need to control plugs based on load power or energy consumption, you’re welcome to join the discussion in this thread. Energy level as a trigger

How can I automatically activate the Charge Guard at a certain time? I would like to have the boiler automatically switched off in the evening from 19.00, but only when the boiler warm-up cycle is over.
This is not supported either.
Your need is actually quite similar to the original post -- using the plug’s power or consumption data as a trigger to control its switch. I’d recommend you join that existing feature request thread, add your vote, and leave a comment there. Energy level as a trigger
