The website doesn't even have the updated product line to select. I just bought the tapo c250 with the understanding that it uses H265 compression. But when connecting to synolgy it uses H264 instead with no h265 selection.

After internal verification, we’d like to clarify that Tapo C250 currently supports H.264 encoding only when used via ONVIF/RTSP, and does not support H.265 in this scenario. We understand this is different from what you expected at the time of purchase. We have also confirmed that the information on the official website was incorrect, and this has already been reported to the relevant team for correction to prevent further confusion.
If H.265 support is an important requirement for your setup (such as with Synology), we would recommend considering a return through your retailer, depending on their policy, so you can select a model that better meets your needs.
