Feature request for Deco security
Hi there,
I've had multiple customers who have had break-ins lately and where their Deco system has been stolen. The decos still show up in the app as offline along with the MAC address Could you add a feature to mark Deco MAC addresses as stolen and send notifications if the Decos are added to a new network and some sort of procedure for flagging it to authorities for investigation with connection IP address maybe?

Hi,
Thank you for describing the use cases and the feature request. I understand your desire to be promptly informed once the stolen device is back online and to share relevant information to assist relevant departments in their investigations. However, Deco's connection information (such as the connection IP) is considered the user's privacy data. Due to privacy protection and data compliance requirements, we will not proactively share user data, and there are currently no plans to add the requested feature to Deco.
Regarding the theft incident, we recommend you take the following measures:
1) Contact your local police as soon as possible for assistance
2) Strengthen home security to reduce the risk of re-theft, such as considering adding security monitoring devices (such as home cameras) at your home entrance or in key areas.

Yeah, that's completely incorrect.
You are allowed to refer such information to the police service in Europe. The well-known Alarm and Security Camera Company "Ring" do precisely what the OP suggests above.
Please ask your company CEO and other relevant parties to refamiliarise themselves with European Law, specifically GDPR. It is concerning that a company the size of TP-Lin are incorrectly quoting non-existent regulation. More likely its a situation where you simply cannot be bothered.
