If you already have a main router, and just want to buy the device to expand the network wirelessly. You can consider Range Extenders.

Maybe try to return it and exchange it for an Archer C80 or Archer A8. The currently known versions of those (V1, V2, V2.20) are similar to the Archer C64 V1.

If your main router supports an Easymesh feature, you could use the C64 as a satellite device, connected wirelessly.

The other option is to wait for a new FW release — there's been a case with another router model that had WDS implemented in a later FW release, but nothing's guaranteed.
