Installation Deco BE5000
Hi,
Whats the best way to install Deco BE5000 on an older model Optus router (roughly 5-6 yrs old).
The router is connected to an NBN connection which is running at 50 Mbps, but iam planning to upgrade it tp 500 Mbps.
Thankyou in advance.

Additional information:
1) I tried unsuccessfuly installing the the extenders yesterday & it did not work , I tried to follow the steps through the mobile app. . The steps I went through were;
- Connect the 1st unit with en ethernet cable to the router. & then I simply connected the othet 2 unit in different places , after a few issues which I resoved,
the 3 units were running fine with the light on solid green.
- after about an hour, for some unknown reason my internet connection was lost! , from the Optus end, & Optus support adviced to factory reset the router
, which fixed the problem.
2) Appreciate any feedback about this installtion method which Optus support suggested .
- Connect the 1st extender (this being the main extender) to the router with an ethernet cable, & then press the WPS button on the router to pair it
- Then connect the other 2 extenders , one at a time, & press the WPS button on each extender in order to pair it to the main extender

Hi,
Deco is different from a regular range extender; you can't set it up via the WPS button. If you have factory reset all three Deco units, please power on a Deco unit, connect it to the Router with an Ethernet cable, and then set it up in the Deco app.
How to Set Up Your Deco
After the main Deco is configured successfully, please power on the satellite Deco and refer to the instructions below to set it up. The Deco units display a solid green light after configuration, which means they are successfully configured.
How to Add Another Deco to Your Existing Network
Then, please set the Deco units to AP mode, move the satellite Deco nodes to their intended locations, and test to ensure they are working properly.
How to Set Up Deco in Access Point Mode
If your internet connection is lost again, please check the LED status on the Deco units. Then disconnect the main Deco from the Router, use a PC instead, and connect it to the Router through the same Ethernet cable, and check if you have internet on your PC. If not, the problem may be with the Router, and you can contact the router support team for assistance.
Best Regards
