Model: EB810v
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: aginet

Hello, I want to connect a EB810V as a satellite router to my mesh network, which I've set up with a BE550 as the main router, using Ethernet backhaul (unfortunately, I have to do it this way for now). I'm setting up the mesh network, but the EB810V only joins the mesh network on the 5GHz band; it creates its own separate network on the 6GHz band. How can I solve this? Thanks for your help

Hello @ahmetakkoc133 ,

May I know the hardware and firmware versions of your BE550 and EB810v?

Since the EB810V is creating a separate 6GHz network rather than extending it through the mesh, this could mean that the specific combination of BE550 and EB810V does not yet support 6GHz extension, possibly pending a firmware update.

Hello  @ahmetakkoc133 ,

Please try to install the pre-release firmware for the Archer BE550-v2: △Enhanced EasyMesh Support with Extended Guest/IoT/MLO Networking and Advanced Features for BE550 V2

hi  @Joseph-TP again;

As you suggested, I installed the beta version. Most of the things you mentioned in the beta description work flawlessly, but there are still occasional instability issues during transitions, and full control over the satellite devices is still not possible. In particular, MLO is only active on the main device; it still doesn't work on the satellite devices, and they can't be managed from the main device. If these shortcomings are addressed, it could be a much better version. As for my specific problem, unfortunately, the EB810v is still only active in the 5 GHz band on the mesh network. It still creates its own independent 6 GHz network, and none of the controls in the beta version work. In the beta version's mesh devices management page, while the other devices in the mesh network, BE230 and BE550, have LED Status, Actions, and satellite management page features, only the Actions feature is active on the EB810v; the other functions are inactive. I think this is due to the ISP's software, and there's no way to fix it. Unless I make the EB810v the main router, I will only be able to use the 5 GHz band, and it will be no different from the BE230 in the mesh network.

Hello @ahmetakkoc133 ,

Thanks for sharing your test results.

As you suggested, the EB810v is an ISP-customized product; consequently, its Mesh mechanism likely differs from that of standard models, such as the BE550 or BE230.
However, our engineers are keen to investigate the differences between these models in greater depth and explore whether it is currently possible to extend 6GHz band support to the EB810v.

If you are willing to participate in this effort, we would like to escalate your case to our support engineers, who will follow up with you directly. If you are open to assisting with further analysis, please check your email inbox and respond.
