Please add VPN support to Deco X10‑4G (app shows VPN but it’s not supported)
Hi all,
I’ve got a Deco X10‑4G v1 in the UK and tried to set it up as a VPN client (NordVPN). The Deco app actually shows VPN options for this model – I can go into More → Advanced → VPN Client, add a VPN profile, etc. So it really looks like VPN should work.
After opening a support ticket, TP‑Link told me the X10‑4G doesn’t support any VPN features at all (no client, no server) and that I should buy a different Deco if I want VPN. That’s pretty confusing when the app clearly exposes VPN options for this device and the general Deco VPN docs make it sound like “Deco supports VPN” without calling out that 4G/5G models like this one are excluded.
So, a couple of asks:

Please add VPN client support (and ideally server) to the Deco X10‑4G via a future firmware update. Having a 4G gateway that can run a VPN is a really obvious use case these days.

If that’s not going to happen, please:

Make it super clear in the VPN docs/supported‑models list that the X10‑4G has no VPN support.

Hide or disable the VPN options in the Deco app for this model, so people aren’t misled into thinking it works.

TP‑Link mods/product team: can you confirm if VPN support for the X10‑4G is on the roadmap, or if it’s definitely “never going to happen”?
