Model: TC47
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.7

Barely 2 weeks installed and already acting up.

It seems to happen when it detects a person. The pivot camera default position is spun towards the front door. Just over 90 degrees from where the wide angle camera points straight out. I tweaked the settings to our needs. Mainly wanting person and pet tracking + smart spotlight at night.

I've noticed when leaving the house the pivot cam no longer tracks and goes into a weird loop.

The pivot camera will move

- all the way around

- back to centre

- all the way down and then all the way up

- it does this with flashing lights.

And then it repeats this until I power off the cam.

The video stream to the app also freezes during this ceremony.

It was fine out of the box. Maybe the firmware update made it faulty?

Look forward to hearing how to fix this.

Is your camera’s LED flashing red during this? That rotating behavior is the camera performing Pan & Tilt Correction, which typically happens during a reboot or if you manually trigger that function.

Are you using the original power adapter that came with the camera? Are you using any extension cables? If so, unstable power supply could cause the device to malfunction, like repeatedly restarting.

You can also try to factory reset the camera, monitor whether the same issue still occurs after reconfiguration. How to Factory Reset Your Tapo Camera: Two Methods
