Hi, I have purchased this router specifically to set up my home network with the router directly connected to / as a VPN client so every device that connects on the wifi accesses the internet through the VPN.

I am sure I read somewhere that this can be used as a VPN client, can someone please help me to set this up?

Many thanks to all who can offer some advice.

I see that the router can work as a PPTP VPN/IpenVPN server. http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-1751.html
it also supports IPSec VPN

Thanks for replying, can any of those things be used to set up a vpn client or are they only for vpn server?I am not that technical so if someone could spoon feed me the information I would really appreciate it.I have a horrible feeling my only options will be to flash the firmware (will all the hardware be used to its full potential with this option? & I think I will lose the excellent auto set up for VDSL talk talk)Or should I just return it & buy an Asus router? I really didn't want to do this because of the reliability issues on a close equivalent to this excellent modem router...

The VR2800 can work as VPN server, your computer or your phone can be the client to dial up. If you want the VR2800 to be the only VPN client, I don't think it works that way.

The router contains no client functionality. The VPN server exists ONLY to allow remote devices to access your local network (or the internet via your local network). So if you bought this device believing it had VPN client access built in, you made a mistake.
