Option to change 2.4GHz channel + width (20/40MHz)?
It seems the M5 uses a wide 40MHz channel in 2.4Ghz mode instead of the recommended 20MHz. How can we change that?
Also would be nice if we could to change the wifi channels in advanced settings. Will this be added to a new FW soon?

2.4GHz channel width
Channel width controls how large of a "pipe" 'is available to transfer data. However, larger channels are more subject to interference and more likely to interfere with other devices. A 40MHz channel is sometimes called a wide channel, and a 20MHz channel is a narrow channel.
Set to: 20MHz
Use 20MHz channels in the 2.4GHz band. Using 40MHz channels in the 2.4GHz band can cause performance and reliability issues with your network, especially in the presence of other Wi-Fi networks and other 2.4GHz devices. A 40MHz channel might also cause interference and issues with other devices that use this band, such as Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, and neighboring Wi-Fi networks. Routers that don't support 40MHz channels in the 2.4GHz band do support 20MHz channels.

@Jeehaa Your mistake was thinking they would do something and buying another TP-Link router.

OK that's it, It has been 4 years since this topic started and still nothing. Absolutely garbage of a software and Firmware. I am moving on to another brand, I don't know why I ever thought it's a good Idea to purchase a TP-link device.

Any progress on this?
I just bought M4 kit and I'm pretty disappointed reading this topic..
40Mhz bandwidth is totally unnecessary on 2.4G as I'm using it only for legacy and IoT devices without 5Ghz support.
20Mhz would be perfectly adequate and even better in crowded WiFi area like cities..

Hi, welcome to the community.
Sorry that is still no plan to support this feature and you could vote here to add more support.
Possibility to change WiFi channels
Thank you very much.

Add my name to those disappointed this isn't an option yet. I know the deco series is supposed to be simple to set up, but it should be possible to make a basic change such as this to the configuration.

My HomeKit cameras are dropping off my Wi-Fi so frequently now. Turns out I could fix this if I could change the settings myself. Since this isn't possible the only option left is to to return my two Deco products. Annoying.

Any updates to this? Will there ever be a firmware update for the PX50 to limit channel widths to 20mhz?
From inSSIDer.

@Alexmesh It'll never happen. They keep saying it is coming and it never has for years. Take it back and get a different product.

@tmorris1 It's got to be some high level management somewhere worried that it will reduce the headline speeds of the wifi or thinking that people are too dumb to be allowed these settings. It had to turn the 5ghz mode from 160mhz to 80mhz in order for my phone to connect on 5ghz so it can certainly cause problems having a too wide channel width.
I feel rather self conscious looking at the a wifi spectrum app to see the deco flooding a large chunk of the local spectrum since there are already so many wifi networks in the neighborhood, I hope others don't realize its me and the decos taking up all that air space.
