Hello,

Brand new C7 router randomly disconnects from internet and then, after 20-30 seconds, automatically reconnects. It can happen any hour, 5-6 time a day. Tried rebooting, powering off-on and factory reset, nothing helps. In the system logs it looks like this:

Hardware Version: Archer C7 v5.0
Software Version: 1.0.4 Build 20180425 rel.72768

My old Linksys router works perfectly. Any ideas?

Hi @ForeverNoob

Did you ever resolve this issue?  I've just started experiencing exactly the same problem on an Archer C60.  It has worked fine for over a year, but now these random intermittent WAN disconnects.

Thanks

Hi, thanks for asking. If the router disconnect the WAN recently, it is suggested to check and ensure the internet line is stable in your house first, just in case there is any issue with the ISP network. You may connect your computer to the ISP modem directly, ensure you have a stable internet access. BTW, who is your ISP? Is it dynamic IP on the C60 WAN?

Secondly, ensure the cable between the ISP modem and the C60 is good, you may try with a new CAT5E or CAT6 cable, just in case the cable is some kind of broken.

If the above two are confirmed, but the C60 still disconnects from the WAN, please send us the whole system log, including that when the internet is working fine as well as it is not.

Hello,

Well, yes and no. After a lot of experimentation that led nowhere I installed OpenWRT (OpenWrt 18.06.4 r7808-ef686b7292 / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch (git-19.170.32094-4d6d8bc)). This virtually solved the problem.
