Model: RE205
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20180815 Rel. 38761

Hi!

The RE205 range extender is connected to my 2.4GHz wifi router. On the RE205 i have enabled the 5GHz network. How can i change the 5GHz channel, because for now it automatically chooses channel 36 which is used by my neighbour, and i get rather poor connection.

Thanks

Andrejs

@AnS74

The wireless channel of the range extender cannot be customized, instead, it matches the main router's wifi channel after you set it up. The channel for 2 units should be the same.

You can adjust the wireless settings of the main router to optimize the wireless performance.

Note: You may need reconfigure the RE205 to make it work.

Hi Kevin_Z

Thanks, but i brobably was not clear - my main wifi router DOES NOT have the 5GHz band - it is a 2.4GHz ONLY unit. 5GHz network is enabled ONLY on the range extender. So how can i change the 5GHz channel if my main router is 2.4GHz only unit?

Regards

Andrejs

@AnS74

Thanks for your reply. There is no option to adjust the wireless channel of the RE205; it selects the channel automatically; You can reboot it to check whether the wireless channel of 5GHz has changed.

Meanwhile, you can update the firmware to the latest one.

@AnS74

Hello, you can change Wireless settings, including Channel, through RE205 web management.

Yous enter IP address of the RE205 in the browser.

You can check RE205 IP address with Tether application, but application does not provide channel change option.

Regards,

Dragan
