Archer C6 login re-directs to login
Archer C6 login re-directs to login
Hello group!
I've updated my Archer C6 to the new firmware (according to the updater on the management site 1.2). Since the update completed and the router re-started, I've been unable to log in.
Login & password combo is fine (I tried a wrong one and got an error message), but after I hit login I see the blue background for a second, with the two buttons "Logout" and "Reboot".
The URL shows as http://tplinkwifi.net/webpages/index.html and then it jumps back to http://tplinkwifi.net/webpages/login.html.
Any hint? I havent tried a re-set yet, but that would be my next step. Internet access works, though, so I'm weary of re-setting the whole thing and risking to lock us out of the internet. It's not like I have another router lying around right now.

Thanks for your valued information.
Have you ever tried to enter the password manually? Do not use the reserved password on the browser or paste it.
Meanwhile, you can unbind the cloud account from the Tether app first and login to the web UI with the local credentials; then you can go to advanced-system tools-time settings to correct the system time and then you can rebind it to the cloud account. Or you can change another NTP server.
After that, try to re-login to the web UI.
May it help.

@Kevin_Z I have the same problem since yesterday, when I upgraded to the October update.
I tried the Tether app and it works, but no dice even after the Tether app on a PC (Firefox, Chrome, both including incognito mode in 3 separate PCs, Windows 7, Windows 10 & Linux), Android 9 phone (Firefox & Chrome) or Android 8 tablet (Chrome).
I also tried both with the IP (192.168.1.1) and the URL (http://tplinkwifi.net).
Which 2 buttons are you suggesting to click?

Hello, can you see the login page? Any error message pops up? If it redirects to login page again, could you please shot a short video and send it to us?
The two buttons is what the poster saw;
Besides, the gateway of the Archer C6 is 192.168.0.1 by default; you can give it a go.
May it help.

@Kevin_Z I have changed the LAN IP to 192.168.1.1, so no problem there.
I have attached 3 videos, one in Firefox with the IP address, another in Firefox with the URL (tplinkwifi.net) and one on Chrome with an incorrect password and then the right one.
All 3 are on Linux, but I get the exact same behavior in all other OS and devices. I even tried on a fresh installed Windows VM with no extensions, add-ons or anything. All browsers are updated to the latest version.
It all worked fine with the exact same setups until the update.

I have and I just did type it to check again. Same thing happens, login loop.
I just checked and there is a new firmware update (20200110). I updated, but the same thing happened.
I ended up unbinding the tplink account and I could finally login.
I will not be using the tplink account, which was only needed for using the dynamic dns updater. I can update from another device.
Please, do look into a solution, this is a very big bug in the router.
Thank you for your help!
PS: For anyone else looking for it, to unbind the tplink account you need to click on the i in a cirle icon next to the Archer C6 entry in My Devices in the Tether app and click the Unbind button at the bottom.
