Model: RE205
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.0

Hello!

I cannot connect my new RE205 (EU v.3) to Mikrotik rb952ui-5ac2nd (firmware 6.46.4) on 5Ghz.

I installed sniffer on a separete notebook and see the following proccess:

1) step 761. RE205 tries to connect to router by sending Probe Request with my router's SSID DIR300-5

2) step 762. Router responds with Probe Response.

3) step 763. RE205 send Ack frame

And that's all! I have read about Wireless association process, and known that after these steps the Authentification Open frame must be sent by RE205, as described on this picture:

I tried to share internet over 5Ghz using my tablet with Hotspot mode enabled. And RE205 successfuly connected to Hotspot, going through all steps on the screenshot( authentification, association). So the problem is only with RE205 and my Mikrotik router.

I'm attraching .pcap file to this ticket

Regards,

We solved the problem by changing wireless band from 5GHz-N/AC to 5GHz-A/N/AC (https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Wireless#General_interface_properties)

I have read in other topics about some "magic" beta firmware for RE305 and RE200 that solves issues with 5ghz networks. Do you have such beta firmware for RE205?
