One mesh support on TP-Link AC1900 Archer A9
Is AC1900 Archer A9 expected to have firmware update to enable one Mesh ? It is not there in the compatibility list though. But I see A7 does support one mesh. Then should A9 also be the candidate for one mesh. No ?
Problem with A7 is that it doesn't have MU-MIMO. So confused !
Any suggestions !
I already seem to be on the edge in terms of budget while considering A9.
To add little more detail, I need to have MU-MIMO, Mesh and a USB port on the router. USB port is a must. Now my confusion is which one to sacrifice MU-MIMO or Mesh ? I live in a 3 rooms house where the main router is going to be in one corner. I already have a tp-link range extender (it supports mesh) and that is going to be placed either in one room on the other corner or somewhere in the middle. Most of the time while using the internet we are going to be away from the main router and there is no way to move it. What do you guys suggest ?
Thank you.

Hello, thanks for bringing this up again.
As far as I know, there are currently no plans for the AC1900 to support Onemesh. The OneMesh is being worked on so far for the AX11000, AX6000 and AX20.
Whether the AC1900 will support Onemesh, the compatibility list on the official website is actually the best source to go to. The website is updated with content regularly. So if any new products are added, you can find out through there.
Have a nice day.

Sorry, there is no plan to add the support for Onemesh on the Archer A9, you may refer to the Onemesh Compatibility List if you want one equipped with Onemesh.

@Solla-topee Thank you. Yea, i already looked at the compatbility list. Was just wondering as some posts mentioned that ultimately, all the devices are going to get it.
So is there a router that has it all : OneMesh, MU-MIMO, BeamForming & SmartConnect.
Thanks

Unfortunately, we don't have one equipped with all features you requested yet, so you may check which one you would prefer like below:
AX6000: USB, MU-MIMO, Smart Connect, Beamforming, and it will support Onemesh in the future;
Archer C5400: USB, MU-MIMO, Smart Connect, Beamforming.
For other models, please refer to the specifications on the official website.

@Solla-topee Thank you. AX6000 is way beyond by budgest. Settling for A7 now. Let's see how it goes.
Just a related question about one mesh. So i have a router with one mesh and an extender with one mesh. Say Extender gets powered off. In this scenario, is the device expected to seamlessly move the wifi connection to router (Assuming that location is in the router's range) ?
Thanks.

If u allow for One Mesh on 1750, why would u not on AC1900. Makes no local sense. Any newer router should be upgraded via firmware. U already know how to do it, u ha e thecode in AC1750, and as my non techie friends ask, cant u just Capt and paste Code where it needs to go?
I made a wrong assumption when was thing 1750, and went with 1900, now I regret it and should have picked AC1750.
So weird a company would not provide all the latest and greatest in all newer routers!
Thanks.
I'm a programmer so know what it really takes and ROI seems to be a valid reason.

@Ksiegel40 Yes, I also purchased the higher version thinking that it will be supported. I regret buying this router than Archer A7. I am planning to purchase MR600 to have a failover connection and use it as a extender. I am really surprised to see it's not supporting one mesh.

@Solla-topee i dont understand.
AC1900 > AC1750
AC1900 Price > AC1750 Price
I specifically bought the AC1900 INSTEAD OF the AC1750 because it looked to be a higher tier of the product.
However what you're telling us is that we bought the better / more expensive product only to end up getting stiffed out of a software upgrade because we gave you (Tplink) more money?
Can you explain this because honestly it sounds like we are getting a raw deal here.
