Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 Build 20200216 rel.72186(4555)

Hi,

I recently bought some TP-Link range extenders (RE200's). Only after going through their setup, I discovered the OneMesh functionality. That looked really appealing so I actually bought the most expensive TP-Link router I could find (AX11000) in the full expectance that it would have this OneMesh functionality. The site said that it did.

However, it does not seem to have OneMesh. In an exceedingly oversimplified admin console, I cant find that function anywhere (and the manual is ****, by the way - be more specific!) and the RE200 still wont even discuss OneMesh with this router.

What is going on? Why cant I have onemesh? And why does my new router seem to be really REALLY interfered by the repeaters? I have much better performance if I unplug the RE200's and Ive set them up in the best possible way.*

* Note: Why isn't there a simpeler way to tell my router that "HEY! That RE200 is a repeater, dont **** with it and just let it repeat the existing WLAN".

Please help.

A very frustrated admin

@RichTrawinski

Hi, the developer does provide a beta version for the Onemesh firmware for the AX11000, you can install it on yours if you want to build up an Onemesh network with an existing Onemesh range extender. Get the download link from the below thread:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/261318

The official version will be available soon, you can wait for the official version if you don't want to use the beta firmware.

Thanks a lot.

@ArgentC

Hello, may I know the hardware version of the RE200? Please confirm with the Onemesh Compatibility List as only RE200 (V3.0) supports Onemesh currently, older versions don't support Onemesh.

@Solla-topee Honestly I dont exactly know. Its the RE200's admin page that first mentioned OneMesh and its' firmware is up to date. Im assuming that it wouldnt mention a functionality that it, itself, does not possess.

@ArgentC

Hello, for the hardware version, you may check it on the RE200 label.

If your RE200 is V3, it supports Onemesh, please refer to the below instructions to set it up:

@ArgentC I checked and they're all v4's (i have 3). And no, those instructions don't apply. It doesn't work, im getting the message that OneMesh isn't supported even though I have RE200 v4's and an AX11000 router, which both advertise that they should be capable of it.

What surprises me is that I find absolutely no mention of OneMesh in the AX11000 router's admin pages. Is it related to using IPv6? Because I havent turned that on (would need to check the recommended settings of my ISP before I did). Cant imagine that this is required tho...

@ArgentC Additional curiosity: I dont have the option to use WPA3 on my wireless networks. I can only select the old WEP, WPA and WPA2 variants. It says my firmware is up to date, but is it? The specs say it should handle WPA3....

@ArgentC   ax11000 does not do oneMesh. yet anyways. there's other threads with many asking and responses.. although apparently a 1.8 firmware just came out.. I thought it did too when I bought it.  I think they removed it from the pages..
