Deco M4 ethernet to computer not working
Hi folks,
So far, I have one Deco M4 set up and the WiFi is working perfectly. Now, I want to connect my laptop using the ethernet cable to the 2nd port on my Deco to connect to the internet (the wifi on my laptop is for unrelated reasons disabled).
However, "Unknown Network, No internet access" is the result at my laptop.
When I diagnose the network: "Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration".
I would have expected automatic internet access after connecting my laptop through an ethernet cable to my main Deco, why is this not working?

Hello,
May I know who is your ISP and what kind of modem are you using in your network? Do you have internet access when you plug this computer directly into the modem?
Is the Deco M4 working as a router or an Access Point? What is the IP address you can get when a phone or laptop connects to the Deco's wireless network? How about the LED on the M4, is it solid green?
Please confirm again what is the IP address on this computer when it is plugged into the LAN port of the Deco M4 and what is it when it is plugged into the modem directly.
Thanks.

That's a lot of questions :)
ISP: Telekom, glassfiber Modem (fiber 50 Abo)
I tried connecting the laptop to the modem when I was setting up but did not give me internet. The Telekom tech guy on the phone said that that was also not possible, a router is required.
Deco M4 is set up as a router. Led light on Deco is what it's supposed to be (not green I believe). Wifi is working normal.
I'll have to check again the IP address when I connect (not now), what exactly am I looking for?
Thanks so far!

@TonyDo hi. have your problem fixed?
I am having the same issue. My m4 is set up as a router. so when i plug it to my computer it should be from the m4 and not the modem right?
I am using unifi TM here.
Using Cat6 ethernet cable from second port to computer. But getting the same error as you.

@fuga I'm having same problem too. Using TM unifi.
Also, because it has so few ports, I have a few devices to connect through LAN, I try to connect my Deco M4 to a router and it doesn't work. (I've tested, the router worked with other routers as a repeater or access point.)

@TonyDo @SpaceMan1 I have actually solve it hahah. I assume your connection type is pppoe, you must have your iptv setup too. You just need to turn off the iptv settings then the lan port will work as expected :) As for using old router as a switch, i have done that also just need to tweak a few settings then ok d. Do let me know if this solve your issues!

@TonyDo go into iptv/lan, then note down the vlan id for internet. Go to mode, choose custom, and just put in the vlan id, but dont turn on iptv
