Solution Weak secuirty issue on the IOS system
Background:
Some of you may have updated your Apple devices to the latest iOS 14 version and get a “Weak Security” warning message when connecting to the Deco network.
Why Deco network is displayed as “Weak Security”?
Deco by default secured your wireless network with a mixed WPA/WPA2-AES/TKIP security, and the previous firmware was not allowed to manually configure the security mode. While iOS14 and some new operating systems consider other than the latest WPA3 and WPA2 AES to have security issues.
Solution:
1. The latest firmware version has allowed users to manually configure the security mode; Please make sure that you have updated Deco to the latest firmware;
2. Please ensure you are running the latest Deco app on your phone;
Then Launch your Deco app->MORE->Wi-Fi, tap the password box and you will be able to change the Security Type:
Note:
1. Sometimes Deco APP might fail to get the latest firmware upgrade notification, please also check on the local official website to ensure you have the latest firmware;
2. After changing the security mode to WPA2-PSK (AES) only, If some of your old IoT devices cannot connect to the Deco network anymore, you could change the security back to the mixed WPA2-PSK (AES)+WPA-PSK (TKIP) as your devices might not support the newer AES version.

Hello, thanks for your detailed info.
So now all of your Apple devices still encounter the intermittent internet problem when connecting to the Deco wireless network? Have you tried to restart the Deco system after the firmware update? If not yet, please give it a go.
Yes, there will be an official firmware soon and you will be able to detect it on your Deco app.

Hello, thank you so much for your valued suggestions, these features of [control over UPnP] OR [advanced option of isolation of the WiFi Guest Network as a separate VLAN in AP mode served by a more full-featured/configurable router with VLAN isolation support] will be forwarded to our developers as a feature request and they will evaluate how to improve it in the future updates.
Thanks a lot~

Hello,
I'm afraid not, this beta firmware we provided in this thread is for those generic versions, sorry about that.
Please wait and keep an eye on your Deco app for new official firmware in the near future.
Thanks a lot~

Hello,
Are there any Deco M3W in your network? If yes, I'm afraid that it doesn't have the beta firmware to change the wireless security, thus you may not find the option.
But don't worry that we will soon release a beta firmware for the M3W as well.

Any updates regarding the M3W Deco extender?
I have one integrated into my 3pcs Deco P7 system - as long as it is not activated the encryption works.
As soon as it is active (the M3W) I can't select any enxryption anymore.
Thanks!

The other day I updated my Deco M5's to the 1.5.0 beta firmware.
Noticed this one is 1.4.9 but has a later revision version. Which one should I be using?
