Archer C80 freezes occasionally up to two times a day
Hello,
I'm using Archer C80 in my house. The topology is:
ISP Modem > C80 Router > Clients
The configuration is:
Static IP from ISP Modem to C80 Router
Smart Connect disabled
2.4 GHz n only with one SSID, set to 40 MHz channel 11
5 GHz n/ac with one SSID, set to 80 MHz channel auto
WPA2-PSK, AES
MU-MIMO enabled
NAT Boost disabled
QoS disabled
Only 6 clients connect simultaneously with DHCP, there is no other devices in my house. These are details of each clients:
1. iPhone SE 2020
2x2 MIMO 80 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
2. iPhone 6s
SU-MIMO 80 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
3. MacBook Pro Touchbar 2016
3x3 MIMO 80 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
4. Sharp Android TV
2x2 MIMO 80 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
5. Samsung Galaxy A71
2x2 MIMO 40 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
6. Samsung Galaxy A5 2017
SU-MIMO 40 MHz
This client is connected to 5 GHz SSID
Above devices are registered in Address Reservation list in DHCP Settings.
The 2.4 GHz SSID is meant to serve Guest, if there's any.
Okay enough details, I hope that would help in giving solution to my problem.
My problem is the router occasionally freezes, and I cannot access the internet and Web Management GUI itself. The WiFi itself is still broadcasting signal. The internet LED on the front side of the router would go Orange. The problem would solve if I restart the router from the power switch. There isn't any problem on ISP Modem.
The frequency of freezing is not related to usage or anything, I mean, sometimes the router would freeze even if I only browsing Wikipedia or something and not downloading at all. But yeah, the freezing could happen up to three times per day. And this router is only one week old. But still I don't think this is faulty hardware issue.
What I have tried:
- Reset the router
- Factory reset the router
- Turning QoS on/off
- Turning NAT Boost on/off
- Setting DHCP Lease time to its maximum value
- Setting DNS to local, Cloudflare, Quad9, Google DNS
- Flashing every official firmware for C80 from TP-LINK site
None solved my problem.
Seriously this is very frustrating. Only 6 clients connected, and C80 cannot handle them properly? Do I have to schedule daily reboot to prevent this issue?
Is there anything I could do? Or this is the "limitation" of this model?
I'm using latest firmware for now. Do you have beta firmware to solve this?
Thank you for your help.
